About

Hotel Casa Los Cerros Taganga - Santa Marta (Magdalena)

Hotel Casa Los Cerros Taganga sits in the Dumaruka neighborhood, a residential pocket of Santa Marta (Magdalena) in Colombia. It's a deliberately simple 3-star property with a small-scale feel: no big resort pretensions, just the essentials done well. The hotel is about 3.2 km from Plaza Parque Simon Bolivar, a central landmark worth knowing for orientation.

The property stacks up a generous list of extras for its class — an outdoor swimming pool, a garden with picnic tables, a terrace, and a library. There's also a restaurant, a poolside snack bar, and barbeque grills for casual meals. Free Wi-Fi, parking (including valet), and a city shuttle are included, which is unusual at this level. The hotel also has a health club, fitness centre, and billiard tables, so there's more to do than just sunbathe.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Limited guest feedback — With only one review so far, there's little to go on for service consistency or noise levels — a bit of a leap of faith.
  • Breakfast costs extra — Breakfast is paid, not included in the room rate, so factor that into your budget.
  • No air conditioning mentioned — Given Santa Marta's tropical climate, the lack of air conditioning in the amenities list could be a comfort issue for some.
  • No on-site pets allowed — If you're traveling with a pet, this isn't the place — the policy doesn't mention pets.

The bottom line

A straightforward, well-equipped 3-star in a quiet Santa Marta neighborhood. The breakfast earns praise and the facilities punch above their weight, but the thin review record and paid breakfast give pause. Best for independent travelers who value a pool and easy parking over nightlife.

A solid, no-surprises pick for a relaxed stay — just budget for breakfast.
